Hi there.....I am looking to find a list or meet introductions to people or agencies who can help build and develop virtual worlds for media clients based in the UK and Europe.
If you know anyone or can recommend any companies that are in this space please let me know by emailing me at jondavis204@googlemail.com or post below.
Many thanks.
Hello... I see you have ended up in the right place. I am curious if you can be more specific in your needs. Also... how did you get your clients to think about 3d? I have been in Vw's for a few years and I am
always curious what brings people and companies in this direction. How come they approached you
for the project instead of doing a search for web3d agnecies or builders etc...? :) What does it take
to get interest in a web3d project? What types of businessess do these clients operate in?
Do they want second life? or web3d right on their webpage? What exactly are they seeking....I am
sure its more than a spinning logo in a panorama...to build in web3d is a large large term.
The opportunity is around building a web3d community. I am in exploratory mode, trying to find out about the different agencies in this space and the services they could offer. If you can provide any recommendations of agencies to look at that would be very helpful. Many thanks...JD
Do you want a virtual world like Second Life?
We offer turn key grids using the opensim software. We can manage the servers and all programming needed.
To see what we offer, look at our main grid at www.CentralGrid.com
If this is what your looking for, just let me know we can be flexable to get you a test grid to start testing with.
Hello,
There are a few gaining foothold. Right now I can only think of Forterra Systems Inc www.forterrainc.com
in Sam Mateo. I saw their videos and it looks very good!
I am willing to bet a virtual world with them is over $100,000 to startup or more.
We offer a full virtual world for the opensim platform for under $1,000 to startup.
We host the servers and do all the updates and support.
That is a very good price. I wonder how much it costs/ month to maintain a virtual world with your company? It seems that a VW with your company means a Second Life presence? Or is it a different 3d technologhy? Do you also do the design work and the technical work (in designing)? :) I visited central grid. Can you please provide a link to an example virtual world
a visitor or prospective client can visit?
The Central Grid is an independently operated virtual world, using the opensim software. 100% seperate from Second Life.
OpenSim is a BSD Licensed Open Source project to develop a functioning virtual worlds server platform capable of supporting multiple clients and servers in a heterogeneous grid structure. OpenSim is written in C#, and can run under Mono or the Microsoft .NET runtimes.
Central Grid is a VW and you can login and test it out.
We can do the development in the VW also, we have a staff of builders, scripters and graphics artists.
Monthly cost inside central grid is $30 per month for each 65k sqm land, and server rental fee of $94 per month.
For a seperate VW grids, the montly fees are only the server rental fees.
We offer several different servers based on how many land regions used.
I must have misunderstood the second life part. How many visitors can a world have and how many simultaneous visitors can a world have? Thierty a month is an affordable figure.......I already joined central grid and logged in, but have not found a virtual 3d world to visit. Where should I go? Iguess I would like to visit the main downtwon area or somthing to that effect.
