What is World of Warcraft?

This is a game set in a world of fantasy and myth, complete with epic battles, castles, dungeons and awesome landscapes. Players get to explore this virtual world, while engaging in fierce battles that are part of terrific story lines.

The basic story of World of Warcraft begins after the first three Warcraft games. The bad guys, the Burning Legion, have been driven from Azeroth. You get to decide whether you want to be one of these bad guys, or a member of the Alliance. There are a number of races and classes, and your spells and abilities depend on which class you choose.

There are 70 levels of play, so it is going to be a long time before you are bored with this great interactive online game.

What Do You Need To Play?

You don’t have to purchase any special software to play World of Warcraft, but you do need a broadband connection. You will also need a keyboard and mouse, and 15 GB of free space on your hard drive.

If you are using a PC, you will need to be using Windows, XP, Vista or 7. Mac users will need to use Mac OS X 10.4.11 or newer operating systems. Having 2 GB of ram is recommended for both PC’s and Mac’s.

The Downside: It Costs Money To Play

You will be able to play World of Warcraft free for one month. After that, you will have to upgrade, but you will probably be hooked anyway, and won’t mind paying to keep on playing. You can either purchase the game in the box, or a digital download, for around $20. Then, you will also have monthly membership fees, which range between $13 and $15 per month.

Payments for memberships are convenient, and may be paid by major credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. There are other payment alternatives, including Paypal, using a prepaid game card, and having the fees added right into your telephone bill.
