Eve Online

How would you like to play in a in a far-off galaxy, 20,000 years in the future, exploring and conquering 5,000 solar systems? This is what you will be doing when you play Eve. This fun and exciting game is a hugely popular MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) that is growing more and more popular by the minute.

Eve is what is known as a “single shared virtual world”. In other words, everyone involved with Eve is a member of the same world and community. This game is operated on a number of shards, or multiple servers, so even if there are millions of people using Eve, you will only be interacting with up to 250,000 other players that are also in your shard.

Four races make up the Eve universe, and you will begin by being a character from one of these races. Unlike with many other games, the characters in Eve are not pre-defined, so you are free to do whatever you like with yours. You can choose from a number of occupations, including mining, becoming a mercenary, or do missions from non-playing characters (NPC’s) that are operated by the Eve system.

When you play Eve, you have the option of playing as a single entity, or in a group with others. This is a great way to meet new people and interact, and you can run corporations and create alliances as you work your way through the Eve world.

Learn As You Go

Eve may seem like a really complex game at first, but as you go along, you will learn more and more about how to get the most out of playing this online game. Of course, one of the best ways to learn is to get tips and techniques from other players. Joining a corporation as soon as possible will help, because there are many members of the corporations who have been playing the game for a while who are usually more than willing to help out newbies.

You can also get loads of great information from the in-game tutorials that are offered. There is an in-game help section, as well as a special “rookie channel” for newer players who want to learn more about Eve. And, don’t forget to check out the forums. Just remember, this is a complex game, and you shouldn’t expect to be an expert overnight. Just like any new thing that you learn, you need to have a little bit of patience when learning about the world of Eve, but you will have all kinds of fun learning.

Cost To Play

Yeah…okay…there is one drawback to playing Eve…you have to pay for it. You can purchase a monthly plan at a cost of $14.95, or sign on for one year for $131.95 ($10.95/month). But, the price is relatively low, and you get to play a great game with lots of other people, so, it’s really worth it in the long run. That’s not an overly high price to pay, considering you will have unlimited gaming time.
